The web site has been redesigned and rebuilt after the previous one was corrupted by malware and as a result earlier posts and photos were not able to be retained. Thank you to Jono Kennedy-Till for building the web site, especially his patience with the regularly changing specifications and requests from his father! The base information has been loaded onto the web site, including upcoming meets, and further information and any “teething problems” will be loaded over the coming weeks.
With the web site now available we will be using it as the primary form of communication with members so we recommend that you visit it regularly to ensure that you are up to date. For example, meet posters will no longer be emailed out but instead will be loaded on the web site and members will need to ensure that they visit the web site to understand the due dates for getting entries into Henriette, the club Handicapper. Similarly meet entry reports will be loaded onto the web site for checking. All these details will be loaded for each upcoming meet – see the Meet section of the web site.
Squad managers may still be emailing their squads reminders but swimmers should not rely on this and should visit the web site regularly. There may the occasional need for club wide emails to be sent but these are expected to be the exception.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank Brian Tong (aka “Topline”) for the many years that he has maintained the database and managed the club’s emails – both outgoing and the many incoming queries – at all hours of the day and evening and typically on short notice. As many of you will know from personal experience, Brian is very diligent and generous with his time plus has a great knowledge of swimming administration. Thanks Brian.
