Hi United families
As we head into the planned four week level-4 lock-down period, it is important that we stay connected and active for our overall wellbeing, and as much as possible, maintain fitness levels. We think this especailly important for all our swimmers and want to do as much as we can to support everyone at United to achieve this.
These are clearly uncertain and unprecedented times for us all – with many existing routines and processes not possible for a period of time. From a swimming perspective, it does present an opportunity to focus on areas that maybe have not been such a priority previously e.g. stretching and flexibility, core strength, goals and plans to achieve them, and general knowledge about our sport. We have been exploring the best ways to do this.
We have tested the GroupMe app but we have had some connectivity issues with it and so have decided that each coach will use their own format to connect with their squad. Please keep an eye out for an initial email from your squad manager in the near future. We encourage you to make your forums as interactive as possible. Also keep an eye on the United website as we will post on there as well with general update information and also for the United Instagram.
Stay safe, stay healthy, stay home and stick to the Level 4 Alert rules. And kids, please be kind to your parents!
If you have any questions or concerns then please feel free to contact your squad manager or me.
