SNZY COVID-19 Update

Following the Government’s policy on restricting large gatherings, Swimming NZ has today announced changes to NZ Opens and Olympic trials and has also cancelled other national championships – including NAGS and DIV II.

We appreciate that this will be very disappointing for swimmers, families and coaches but we also understand the prioritisation of the health, safety and wellbeing of the community.

Swimming NZ will refund the entry fees and spectator ticket fees for the cancelled events.

For our NAGS swimmers, we are seeking refunds for the expenses that have already been paid and we will update you as soon as we have that finalised.

Auckland Swimming has also made an announcement cancelling its meets and events until further notice.

We are reviewing training schedules and will update you of any changes as appropriate. Many of you may have heard that some school have put restrictions on the use of their facilities. This is not yet the case at EGGS, but may become so in the coming weeks.

In the interim, a reminder to keep following the recommended hygiene measures.

If a swimmer is feeling unwell with any of the symptoms of COVID-19, please seek medical advice and do not come to training.

If you have a member of your household in self-isolation, we recommend that swimmers stay away from training until that person has finished their self-isolation.

If you have any queries, then please contact your squad manager or myself.

Best regards
