We recognise that not all members want to, or are able to, meet the commitment and performance levels required for the Silver, Gold and Senior squad (see separate post on updated squad criteria) so we have introduced the Sprint squad to provide an alternative for these swimmers. The Sprint squad is for swimmers who want to continue competitive swimming but with more flexibility around commitment levels.
There are four sessions available per week during the school term: 7-8am on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. On Tuesdays and Fridays, we have all the lanes at the Epsom pool, so we will be able to provide more training variety on these days and, subject to numbers, we will have two coaches on these days. The fee for the Sprint squad is $540 per school term, plus the administration fee and the annual club membership and SNZ fees.
The Sprint squad will train at the same time as the Multi-sport squad – in the event that there is more demand than spaces available, preference for spaces will be given to swimmers in the Sprint squad and to Multi-squad swimmers selecting the 4-sessions per week option.
If you are interested in this squad, then please email Kerry Lusby on email@example.com to secure your space in this squad. If you would like to understand more about the squad, then please discuss this with Larissa – 021 078 4100 or email her on firstname.lastname@example.org
We will continue to offer the Multi-sport squad trainings. Subject to the availability of spaces on the respective days, at the start of the term swimmers can elect a programme of either 1x, 2x, 3x or 4x sessions per week, and are required to train the same days each week. We have additional lane space on Tuesdays and Fridays so there will be more availability on these days so if you are looking to do 1x or 2x session per week, then you may want to target Tuesdays and Fridays. For this squad you are not required to enter competitive swim meets.
Please email Kerry Lusby on email@example.com to secure your space in this squad. Preference will be given to swimmers on the 4x per week programme, and then on a first-come basis.
