ASA Opens in an un-targeted meet but you can enter the meet

To United Swimmers

Please note that United swimmers may enter ASA Opens.   It is an un-targeted meet so you are not required to enter, but given it is the final qualifying meet before NAGs we expect that some swimmers will want to enter, to either make qualifying times, and/or practice racing for their NAGs events.  Accordingly, there will be a United coach at each session as required under the new ASA rules – however, it may not be your squad coach.  If you are entering your swimmer, then please be prepared for the possibility of being asked to work at each session that your swimmer is participating at because sometimes there are only a small number of swimmers in a session and ASA will require helpers to ensure that the event meets the SNZ requirements to be a qualifying meet, and therefore valid times for NAGs.  For those entering, the closing date for entries is Sunday 26th February.

Also please note that during ASA Opens scheduled training sessions for United will continue as normal – that is, there will no timetable changes because of ASA Opens.
